This is a conversion set for the Takom FV432 M.2/1 w/interior (kit no. 2066), adding a Sabre turret to produce the ‘Infantry Fighting Vehicle’ armed with the 30 mm Rarden cannon. 
FV432/30 chassis was an attempt to give British mechanised infantry more firepower to increase combat effectiveness in urban enviroments such as West Berlin. This was done by mating the turret of a Fox armoured car with the FV432 Mk.2 chassis, effectively transforming the armoured personnel carriers into infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). Minimal development was required to create the vehicle. As early as 1970, the first vehicles were built for troop trials. Up until 1976, when the programme was terminated, around 13 vehicles had been built (some sources say 15). They served with the Berlin Infantry Brigade and then the School of Infantry (Warminster). The normal 432 has seating for 12 infantry. Though the seats were retained, there was only room for 4 as the turret cage was quite intrusive. It was not until 1987, with the arrival of the FV510 Warrior into service, that the British Army received its first real IFV. The crew was three with commander and gunner in the turret. All radio equipment was moved into the turret, so the original 432 commander’s cupola in the hull top was replaced with a simple hatch. 
After service, they were bought by the tank driving and paint-ball company Armourgeddon, who also converted more. These were modified with a compressed air cylinder on the rear of the turret for the paintball gun.
